Cwricwlwm Newydd

Mae cwriclwm newydd i Gymru yn cael ei ddatblygu ar hyn o bryd, a fydd yn statudol o Fedi 2022. Mae Ysgol Calon y Cymoedd ar flaen y gad o ran datblygiadau y cwricwlwm gyda’r gwaith rydyn ni’n gwneud gyda’r clwstwr.

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn datgan:

"Bydd y cwricwlwm newydd yn pwysleisio ar roi i bobl ifanc y sgiliau sydd eu hangen arnynt ar gyfer bywyd. Bydd yn datblygu eu gallu i ddysgu sgiliau newydd a defnyddio’u gwybodaeth bynciol yn fwy ef-feithiol ac mewn ffordd fwy creadigol. Wrth i’r byd newid o’u cwmpas, byddan yn gallu addasu, a hynny mewn ffordd gadarnhaol.

Hefyd, cânt ddealltwriaeth ddofn o sut i lwyddo mewn byd sy’n fwyfwy digidol. Mae fframwaith cymhwysedd digidol newydd bellach yn cyflwyno sgiliau digidol ar draws y cwricwlwm, gan baratoi pobl ifanc ar gyfer y cyfleoedd a’r risgiau sydd ynghlwm wrth y byd ar-lein.

Hefyd, caiff athrawon fwy o ryddid i ddysgu yn y ffyrdd a fydd, yn eu barn hwy, yn sicrhau’r deilliannau gorau i’w dysgwyr.

Prif ffocws y trefniadau asesu fydd sicrhau bod dysgwyr yn deall sut maen nhw’n perfformio a beth mae angen iddyn nhw ei wneud nesaf. Bydd pwyslais o’r newydd ar asesu ar gyfer dysgu fel rhan hanfodol a chraidd o ddysgu ac addysgu."

Mae gan y cwricwlwm newydd 6 Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad:

• Þ Celfyddydau mynegiannol

• Þ Iechyd a lles

• Þ Dyniaethau (gan gynnwys addysg grefyddol)

• Þ Ieithoedd, llythrennedd a chyfathrebu

• Þ Mathemateg a rhifedd

• Þ Gwyddoniaeth a thechnoleg 

Fe fydd sgiliau Llythrennedd, Rhifedd a Chymhwysedd Digidol yn cael eu haddysgu ar draws bob maes dysgu a phrofiad.

Diben y cwricwlwm newydd yw i gynorthwyo’r plant i fod yn:

1. Ddysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog.

2. Cyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol.

3. Dinasyddion egwyddorol, gwybodus.

4. Unigolion iach, hyderus.

New Curriculum

A new curriculum for Wales is currently being developed and will be statutory from September 2022. Ysgol Calon y Cymoedd is at the forefront of the new curriculum developments with its work with the cluster.

The Welsh Government states:

“The new curriculum will have more emphasis on equipping young people for life. It will build their ability to learn new skills and apply their subject knowledge more positively and creatively. As the world changes, they will be more able to adapt positively.

They will also get a deep understanding of how to thrive in an increasingly digital world. A new digital competence framework is now introducing digital skills across the curriculum, preparing them for the opportunities and risks that an online world presents.

Meanwhile teachers will have more freedom to teach in ways they feel will have the best outcomes for their learners. The central focus of assessment arrangements will be to ensure learners understand how they are performing and what they need to do next. There will be a renewed emphasis on assessment for learning as an essential and integral feature of learning and teaching.”

The new curriculum has 6 Areas of Learning and Experience:

• Þ  Expressive arts

• Þ  Health and well-being

• Þ  Humanities (including Religious Education)

• Þ  Languages, literacy and communication

• Þ  Mathematics and numeracy

• Þ  Science and technology

Language, Numeracy and Digital Competence skills will be taught across all areas of learning and experience.

The purpose of the new curriculum is to support the children to be:

1. Ambitious, capable learners.

2. Enterprising, creative contributors.

3. Ethical, informed citizens.

4. Healthy, confident individuals
